Maryland man extradited from Michigan on numerous arrest warrants

1280 Tyler Hill

EASTON, Md. – A Maryland man has been extradited from Michigan on several arrest warrants from multiple law enforcement agencies.

The charges stem from an investigation that began during the early morning hours of May 30th. At around 4:15 a.m., Easton Police officers responded to Hertrich Chevrolet in Easton for a report of suspicious activity. It was reported that a suspicious person and a truck were seen in the parking lot. Officers arrived at the scene to find a white Chevy Silverado with Virginia registration leaving the parking lot, Officers subsequently stopped the vehicle at U5 Foods and noticed a broken passenger side window, as well as ammunition and equipment that appeared to be law enforcement related. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Donya Jenkins-Patterson, who was later charged in connection to the incident.

While investigating, officers learned that a second suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Tyler Hill, was seen fleeing into the woods behind Hertrich Chevrolet. While responding to this report, officers noticed that a passenger side window of a Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was broken.

Just before 6:30 a.m., officers were called to the 29000 block of Hawkes Hill Road for a report of a stolen 2024 Chevy Traverse. Due to the close proximity of the theft, police believed that Hill had stolen the vehicle.

Just after 7 a.m., Maryland State Police tried to stop the vehicle in the area of Barbaro Drive and Canter Lane in Wicomico County, at which time Hill reportedly fled into a wooded area. Maryland State Police, Wicomico County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Natural Resources Police searched the area for the suspect. While police were searching, Hill allegedly broke into a residence on Tower Road in Salisbury and stole a handgun, as well as a 2001 Ford F-150. The truck was recovered by Baltimore County Police at around 11:30 p.m.

Further investigation revealed that the Chevy Silverado was stolen at around 11 p.m. on May 29th from Baltimore City. Detectives connected Hill and Jenkins-Patterson to vehicle break-ins in Queen Anne’s County that happened prior to any contact with Easton Police. A search of the stolen Silverado also connected Hill and Jenkins-Patterson to vehicles broken into in Towson, Maryland. It was further determined that the pair were targeting law enforcement vehicles across the state, and Hill was identified as the suspect who fled from Easton Police officers.
