Good Morning Delmarva discusses a celebration of the legacy of Bishop Isaac Jenkins Sr.

WMDT – Next Saturday, July 27th, there will be a celebration of the legacy of Bishop Isaac Jenkins Sr. in Pocomoke.

He was previously the pastor of New Macedonia Baptist Church and was known for receiving many prestigious accolades include from a former president.

And they were all for his involvement in the local community and helping the youth.

This morning, Issac Jenkins, stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to tell us more about the event and why it’s so important to commemorate him.

He says that Bishop Isaac Jenkins Sr. had started a program called Save the Youth which helped over 500 hundred people get their GED.

In honor of what he did for the community, the city of Pocomoke named not only a street after him, but also the train station.

Issac Jenkins says that he made a huge impact on him as a child and has made him more of a compassionate and caring person.
