LAUREL, DEL – On June 8th at around 2:50am, a Laurel Police Department officer on patrol attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Sussex Highway and Georgetown Road. The initial traffic stop was being attempted after the officer observed the vehicle traveling in excess of 100mph in a posted 55mph zone.

Rather than pulling over, the vehicle accelerated in an attempt to elude the officer and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The vehicle continued to drive in an extremely reckless manner Eastbound from Sussex Highway on small, two-lane back roads in excess of 100mph. In the process, the pursuing officer reported seeing the vehicle’s lights turning off while committing several stop sign, lane use, and other dangerous moving violations at high speed. The initial officer discontinued the pursuit as the vehicle continued to flee East toward Georgetown.
Shortly thereafter, a Georgetown Police Department officer observed the vehicle still speeding in excess of 100mph on Seashore Highway and attempted another traffic stop. The vehicle again failed to stop, and the officer elected not to pursue in the interest of public safety.
Multiple officers from Laurel PD, Georgetown PD, Bridgeville PD, and troopers from the Delaware State Police canvassed the area in search of the vehicle while the Delaware State Police Helicopter “Trooper 2” searched from overhead. The vehicle was soon located a third time on Old Furnace Road in Seaford, where the vehicle was successfully stopped and the driver was taken into custody without further incident.
The driver was identified as Isa T Davis a 25-year-old from Georgetown, DE. He was transported to the Laurel Police Department and charged with the following crimes:
-Disregarding Police Officer Signal (Class G Felony)
-Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor)
-Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor)
-Multiple Additional Traffic Violations
