Laurel man injured in explosion
LAUREL, Del. – A Laurel man is being treated for injuries sustained in an explosion Sunday evening.
Just before 7:30 p.m., firefighters responded to the 30000 block of E. Trap Pond Road, finding a person suffering from burns to his head and back. They also found an actively burning metal drum on the property.
The 27-year-old man was flown to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Pennsylvania by DSP Aviation for treatment of his burns.
Deputy State Fire Marshals determined that several aerosol spray cans had been discarded into the burning barrel, causing an explosion and flash fire. There were no damages reported to any property.
