Dover teen arrested on gun and drug charges
CAMDEN/WYOMING, Del. – A 17-year-old Dover male is facing gun and drug charges following a traffic stop last week. Delaware State Police say just before 10AM on June 28, a trooper made a traffic stop for the teen not wearing a seatbelt. During the stop he found the driver didn’t have a valid driver’s license. DSP says the trooper also found both marijuana wax and a loaded handgun, plus ammunition with him. The vehicle was found to be stolen from Ohio.
The 17-year-old was taken into custody and faces multiple charges including carrying a concealed firearm, which is a felony. He was committed to the Vision Quest Detention Center on a $16,202 secured bond.
The teen is facing the following charges:
Carrying a Concealed Firearm (Felony)
Receiving a Stolen Firearm (Felony)
Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
Possession of Deadly Weapon by Person Under 18 (Felony)
Possession of Deadly Weapon by Person Prohibited who also Possesses Controlled Substance (Felony)
Possession of Ammunition by Person Under 18 (Felony)
Possess Marijuana Under 18
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Driving Without a Valid License
Driver Must Wear Property Fastened Seatbelt
