Kent County Levy Court warns of Home Warranty Scam

KENT COUNTY – Friday, the Kent County Levy Court made the public aware of a new scam.

Residents have reported receiving ‘Final Notices’ about home warranties. with the sender listed as the Kent County Levy Court. The court wants the public to know that they do not offer home warranty services.

Fortunately in the case reported today, the recipient of the notice was an employee of the levy court, so they were able to identify it as a scam immediately.

For the rest of us, officials say there are simple ways to help protect yourself: “First and foremost keep your money and don’t send any information out to anyone. The other thing [is] pass the information along to a friend so that the word circulates and spreads,” said Kelly Pitts of the Kent County Levy Courts.
