Emerging Leader: Simran Jain

47ABC – Now, it is Monday and that means it is time to introduce you to a new emerging leader!

Simran Jain is a senior at Stephen Decatur High School and is already making great strides to teach financial literacy to children by becoming a published author.

This morning, Simran visited Good Morning Delmarva to tells us more about what started this journey and her book “Zoya’s Marvelous Adventures in Money”

She says the idea came from her own experience with financial literacy at a young age and began writing the book as a project for English class.

“Zoya’s Marvelous Adventures in Money” is about a young girl who never thought about money and how bad financial decisions could lead to problems in her personal life, with the help of the adults around her, she learns how to better manage money and solve her problems.

Jain says she tried to make each lesson engaging and fun for children to read. The chapters feel like an exploration!

She tells us that it was a lengthy process to publish the book and she connected with a local artist at Salisbury University for the illustrations.

Simran also wants to publish her own research article on the Stephen Decatur High School Writing Center.
