UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in Harrington crash

5/23 UPDATE: Police have identified the victim as 31-year-old Brandon Williams of Denton.

HARRINGTON, Del. – An investigation is underway after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon in Harrington.

According to police, a Freightliner tractor and trailer was driving eastbound on Vernon Road, approaching Fox Hunters Road, at around 4 p.m. At the same time, a Honda CB1 motorcycle was driving westbound on Vernon Road, approaching Fox Hunters Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that the Freightliner had almost completed a left turn onto Fox Hunters Road, when the front of the motorcycle hit the back part of the trailer, causing the operator of the motorcycle to be ejected.

The 31-year-old Denton man driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Freightliner, a 58-year-old Laurel man, was not injured.
