Harm reduction vending machines installed in Somerset Co.
WESTOVER, Md. – The Somerset County Health Department has installed two new vending machines containing free harm reduction and personal hygiene products.
We’re told the vending machines are stocked with supplies for drug safety testing and combatting opioid overdose (xylazine test strips, fentanyl test strips, Narcan, personal hygiene (hygiene kits, male latex condoms), and small and large Deterra bags for safe disposal of unused prescription and over the counter medications. In the future, wound care kits will be added to the machines.
The new machines are located in the breezeway of the Wellness and Recovery Center at 11674 Somerset Avenue in Princess Anne and outside of the Woodrow Wilson Community Center at 119 S 7th Street in Crisfield.
