Delaware State Police investigating fatal crash in Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del. – A single-vehicle crash that left one dead Saturday morning is under investigation.

Delaware State Police say that at 7:08 a.m. a 2002 Toyota Celica GTS was traveling southbound on Parker Road, apparently traveling at a high speed.

Early investigation reveals that the vehicle failed to navigate the sharp curve north of Firemans road, leading to it exiting the east edge of the highway. Entering an open field, the vehicle overturned multiple times and the driver was ejected.

The driver was identified as a 22-year-old man from Frankford, Delaware, and was pronounced dead at scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.

Parker Road at Firemans Road was closed for roughly 3 hours while authorities investigated the scene and cleared the road.

The incident continues to be under investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Master Corporal K. Argo by calling 302-703-3264.
