Cambridge Police asking for public’s help in 2020 homicide investigation
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Cambridge Police are asking for the public’s help in a continuing homicide investigation.
During the afternoon hours of August 30, 2020, Cambridge Police officers responded to the 600 block of Pine Street to help with an EMS call. When they arrived at the scene, officers found the victim, identified as 54-year-old Ernest Jones Jr, suffering from injuries consistent with a stab wound. It was determined that Jones had died prior to EMS arrival, and his death was ruled a homicide.
The investigation has continued since, but officers are asking the public for help. Anyone with information that may lead to an arrest in this incident and bring closure to Jones’ family and friends is asked to contact D/Sgt. Bryant Simmons at 410-228-3333.
