NJ Earthquake Friday morning felt by some residents on Delmarva
NEW JERSEY – The United States Geological Survey has recorded an earthquake near Lebanon, New Jersey Friday morning. The earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 4.8 at 10:23AM. USGS does have reports that some residents on Delmarva felt weak shaking when it happened.
Officials say the earthquake shook skyscrapers and suburbs across the Northeastern United States for several seconds. It caused no major damage, but startled millions of people in an area unaccustomed to such tremors. It also diverted flights and disrupted travel on roads and rails during runway, bridge and tunnel inspections.
