Investigation leads to disciplinary action against two Denton Police officers

DENTON, Md. – Disciplinary action has been taken against two Town of Denton Police Officers following a recent investigation.

We’re told this investigation began following an incident on April 7, 2023, that led to a citizen complaint against two Town of Denton Police Officers. The Caroline County Administrative Charging Committee reviewed and discussed the allegations and misconduct by the two officers, finding that each were in violation of Town of Denton Police Policies.

The recommended discipline against the first officer, Corporal Snyder, included ten days loss of leave and/or pay. The imposed discipline was five days loss of leave and a five day suspension without pay, which was presented to the officer, accepted, and imposed.

For the second officer, Corporal Mayo, the recommended discipline was ten days loss of leave and/or pay, as well as a demotion of one rank. The imposed discipline was five days loss of leave, five days suspension without pay, and a demotion to Patrolman First Class. This was presented to Corporal Mayo, accepted, and imposed.
