New organization for service dog training seeking funds, center

A new organization for veterans in need of service dogs is seeking funds and a center for training.

Chris Hardy of the U.S. Kennels Training Center based in Salisbury says the group was founded in 2016.

Hardy says about 15 dogs have been donated by local shelters. The idea is have disabled veterans train their own service dogs.

The non-profit is looking for sponsors to help with funding and also currently searching for a center for training.

"Once we get into the training center, we'll start taking on volunteers. For right now, we are looking for foster parents where we get dogs or puppies to help raise and socialize so we are looking for those right now. If anyone wants to help out with those, please us let know," explains Hardy.

If anyone is interested in the group, please email uskennels@outlook.com or call 410-251-3714.
