Vital downtown intersection to see summer construction
SALISBURY, Md. – The city is about to move on to its next phase of downtown road construction. Up next, the intersection of Main Street and North Division Street.
Construction on the intersection will begin June 17, and is scheduled to last 120 days.
We’re told the intersection is too important to close, so one portion will be done at a time with flaggers and signage diverting traffic.
However, there may be times where the intersection will be closed for a day or two, according to Salisbury Mayor Jake Day.
We’re told this construction will not have any effect this year’s Folk Festival.
“The watchword is no unfinished surfaces during the Folk Festival. So all the projects you see ongoing, from the town square to Main Street master plan project to the North Division Street streetscape project, all of these things will be finished surfaces,” Mayor Day asserted.
We’re told downtown construction will be completed in time for the start of the 2020 Folk Festival.
