Local gallery immerses children in the world of art
SALISBURY, Md. – A local gallery immersed students into the world of art, Saturday afternoon.
The Salisbury Art Space welcomed students to the facility to learn how to paint.
The art course runs over a six-week period and at the end of it, students will be able to showcase their pieces at the gallery.
Art instructor, Jill Gillmore, said introducing children to art at a young age helps them develop a love for the hobby and can encourage them perfect their skills over time.
“Art and music are wonderful ways to integrate other subjects together,” Gillmore said. “They work to combine science and math into art; we use angles every day when we’re building our community with buildings, it links to different jobs in the community.”
The art show will take place in early April.
