Comprehensive Plan

SOMERSET COUNTY, Md.- Somerset County is seeking resident input for the area’s next comprehensive plan.

The county has now opened up a survey for public responses to help draft a vision statement. The comprehensive plan covers topics including housing, land usage, and transportation.

The county held a public visioning workshop which helped update that vision statement. Now, the department of technical and community services tells us input is still needed to make sure that statement is reflective of all who call the county home. “It guides development and just shows what we plan for the county to look like in 10-20 years from now. Also, what are the strengths and what do we need to improve,”

“This is the county’s plan which is the people’s plan, so we want everybody to be engaged in this process.”

Drewer tells us they haven’t start complying survey results yet — so it’s still time for residents to let their voice be heard.

Public responses are being accepted until the end of the month.
