Suspect arrested in connection to Smyrna shooting

SMYRNA, Del. – Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting that injured one Monday night.

Wednesday morning, officers executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Sequoia Drive, locating evidence from the shooting. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Theodrick Onley, who was not home at the time of the search.

Onley turned himself in to the Smyrna Police Department a few hours later and was charged with first degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and first degree reckless endangering. He was held at SCI on a $112,000 bond.

We’re told the victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.
