Local organization calls on community to support those in need

Homeless Shelter Seeks Support

MILFORD, Del. – Milford Advocacy for the Homeless is calling on you to help a neighbor in need.

The organization is hoping to collect at least 50 donated tents for homeless individuals, so they have a place to lay their head at night.

President and founder of the organization, Martha Gery, said no matter your views, she wants the community to be able to come together to help those in need.

“There’s a lot of controversy about homelessness in the city and in our towns, and I get it, no one wants anybody to be making a home where a home shouldn’t be,” Gery said. “But it is a challenge and it’s going to continue being a challenge, but when we come together as a community, we definitely make a better difference.”

You can drop your donation off at 141 Aspen Court, Building 26.
