Delaware Electric Cooperative warning of scam attempt

DELAWARE – Delaware Electric Cooperative is warning citizens of a new scam circulating the area.

It is reported that a member received a call from an unfamiliar number and when they answered, a man on the phone gave his name and bade number and told the member that he could offer 30% off of their electric bill if they gave their debit card information.

Citizens are reminded to not give the caller any personal or financial information. The Co-Op would never ask for that kind of personal information over the phone.
