Queen Anne’s captures 2A Regional Championship

CENTREVILLE, Md – The Queen Anne’s Lions win 66-65 over Easton thanks to JaDereon Thompson making the game-winning free throw with one second left to claim the MPSSAA 2A Regional Championship.

The Lions went into the fourth quarter leading Easton by 14 points. But Marshall Bailey and the Warriors showed signs of life, roaring back into the game and tying the score up at 65 with four seconds left.

After Bailey scored the game-tying bucket, Vince Gilberto threw a full-court pass to Thompson who was fouled on a shot attempt right as time expired.

Thompson made the first free throw to get Queen Anne’s their first regional championship since 2016

Bailey scored 10 points in the fourth quarter alone for the Warriors.
