Jury hands down largest medical malpractice verdict in Wicomico Co. history

SALISBURY, Md. – A Wicomico County jury handed down the county’s largest medical malpractice verdict last week.

We’re told the jury ordered Dr. Peter Libby and Peninsula Radiology Associates, PA to pay Selbyville couple Mary and Tim Raver $3.38 million for Dr. Libby’s failure to properly interpret and identify abnormalities on Mary’s CT scan, resulting in her cancer progressing from Stage I to terminal Stage IV cancer.

This verdict is the largest medical malpractice verdict in Wicomico County’s history.

The jury awarded $1.2 million in non-economic damages and $2,185,317.75 in economic damages to include past and future medical expenses, loss of household services, and lost earning capacity.
