Meals on Wheels Delaware feeds 4,000 a day

Meals on Wheels had their annual celebrity chef brunch at Rusty rudder’s in Rehoboth beach on Sunday.

“Today for meals on wheels just means a tremendous amount in both support and people coming out and bring aware of what the meals on wheels program really does,” said Nichole Bailey, one of the event organizers and Meals on Wheels representative.

“It’s awesome. There’s 26 different restaurants here right now. You can just walk around and taste all the food, it’s all local restaurants so, you’re supporting your own people,” said Pete McMahon.

Top restaurants from the Culinary Coast volunteered their time to serve a wide range of specialty dishes in support of the meals on wheels mission, to ensure senior citizens receive 5 meals a day. Meals cost about $6 each, which may not sound like much, but multiplied by up to five meals a day per person,
 it quickly adds up. Making Sundays event, which is their biggest fundraiser, that much more important
