One injured in Accomack Co. shooting, police investigating

NEW CHURCH, Va. – Police are investigating a shooting that injured one early Sunday morning in Accomack County.

Shortly before 4:30 a.m., deputies responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 32000 block of Hilltop Drive. Deputies arrived at the scene to find a residence that had been damaged by multiple gunshots and heard someone asking for help from inside the residence. Once inside, deputies found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to an established landing zone to be taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center by Maryland State Police Trooper 4, where he is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.
