Automated system in Downtown Salisbury Parking Garage to go live Thursday
SALISBURY, Md. – The new license plate reader system in the Downtown Salisbury Parking Garage will go live this Thursday, February 8th.
The garage will shift to license plate readers for permit holders, while hourly parkers will take a ticket. Billable hours for non-permit holders will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the first two hours free and each hour after at $2. The new system is cashless; cards and mobile payments will be accepted at the exit lane.
Parking permits for the garage are also being transferred to an online system, with registration, renewal, and payment moving online in the future. Current permit holders’ license plate numbers have been added to the software to allow access in and out of the garage on February 8th.
Members of the parking team will be present in the garage to help with the transition from 7 a.m. February 8th until 2 a.m. on February 9th.
If you have an issue leaving the garage and there is no one physically present, you can press the intercom button on the pay station and someone will help you exit remotely.
One entrance and exit will be open initially while contractors work to activate the additional entrance and exit lanes.
