Pair arrested for attempted murder in Pocomoke
POCOMOKE, Md. – Two people have been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Pocomoke last month.
Police say the incident took place just after 4 a.m. on January 23rd, at a residence in the 900 block of 2nd Street. As law enforcement was en route to the location, a second call came in regarding a gunshot victim being located in the area of Clarke Avenue. The victim was taken by EMS to TidalHealth before later being transferred to Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment.
Deputies from the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation assumed the investigation, with help from Pocomoke Police and the Ocean City Police Forensics Unit. As a result of the investigation, police arrested 18-year-old Darrius Johnson and 39-year-old Ieassha Johnson, both of Pocomoke.
Each were subsequently charged with attempted first degree murder, first and second degree assault, and conspiracy to commit first degree murder. Both were held without bond.
