Del. State Police: Wrong way driver sends two people to the hospital

SEAFORD, Del. – Two people were sent to the hospital after a serious three car crash on Sunday night.

Delaware State Police say the crash happened at 11:08 p.m. on Route 13, just north of Cannon Road. Troopers say a 22-year old Georgetown man was driving south in the northbound lane of Route 13 when he hit another car head on. A third driver, a 54-year old male from Bridgeville, did not notice the the crash and hit the two cars.

Police say the wrong way driver was not wearing his seat belt and suffered non life threatening injuries. The driver of the second car, a 66-year old Ellendale man, was wearing his seat belt but also suffered non life threatening injuries. Police say the Bridgeville driver was not wearing his seat belt but luckily was not hurt.

Troopers have not clarified if drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.
