Wicomico Humane Society still in need of volunteers to support sheltered dogs
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – The Wicomico Humane Society is still looking for volunteers to help out with their sheltered dogs.
Whitney Hoffman, with the shelter, said a new year brings new needs. The shelter is looking for dog lovers to walk the pups, Tuesday-Friday, with open slots from 11:30am- 4:30PM.
Hoffman said some of the dogs are stronger, so you should be comfortable in handling dogs that can give the leash a bit of a harder pull.
She added with the community’s support, they should be able to find all the volunteers they need.
“Looking into 2024, we could use some more dog walkers and adoptions,” Hoffman said. “We’ve been doing quite a bit in 2023, but we could always use more. With the community’s help, we feel strongly that we’ll get the support we need.”
Hoffman added any time you spend with the dogs is helpful. You can stay as little as 10 minutes, or as long as 2 hours.
