Governor’s Challenge Late Day 1 Recap

SALISBURY, Md. – The Governors Challenge returned to Salisbury for the 41st edition of the largest holiday basketball tournament in the country.

The Parkside Rams took down the Salisbury School 61-60. The Dragons took a two-point lead at halftime that the Rams were able to overcome thanks to timely stops on the defensive end. Salisbury School was down one with ten seconds to play but couldn’t put the ball in the hole, granting Parkside the victory.

Snow Hill blew out Laurel 84-48, led by DaZavion Dix‘s 15 points on five of six shooting and nine blocks. Zyheem Collick added 19 points in 19 minutes of action for the Eagles. Snow Hill got it done on the defensive end of the court as well, racking up 17 steals as a team in the blowout victory.

Over in the Moolah Girls Shore Showcase, Dover won big over Decatur 56-20, Parkside handed Delmarva Christian their first loss of the season 41-31, WiHi beat Sussex Tech 71-39, North Caroline beat Seaford 55-43, and Bennett beat Laurel 42-20.
