Troops overseas receive Operation We Care packages in time for the holidays

DELMARVA.-  Operation We Care sent out their packages to troops for the Holidays.

The organization sent over 1,000 care packages to troops in various regions,
one package reaching as far as South Korea.

Operation We Care founder, Jeff Merrit, said the annual tradition brings joy to the people who receive the packages, because it sends a little piece of home to them.

And the people who pack the goods look forward to sending the holiday cheer to the troops every year.

“It’s a little bit more of a stressful time of year in a deployment situation, so we just want to send the packages out, just to remind the men and women that are deployed that we appreciate what they’re doing for us and for our country,” Merritt said.

Merritt added they’ll be hosting their second major packing event in May.
