Dorchester County public schools see improvements in 2022-23 report card

DORCHESTER COUNTY, Del.- Dorchester County Public Schools said their performance is improving, after reviewing their 2022-23 academic year report card.

The district showed growth in 10 out of 13 areas, including elementary academic achievement and high school graduation rate.

Three of the schools in the district were less than 1% away from receiving another star rating.

Director of Curriculum, Instructional and Assessment, Dr. Jodi Colman, said the district is on the right track, but there’s always room for improvement.

“With every piece of data, there’s always the positives and the pieces that we continue to work,” Dr. Colman said. “We are still below the state average for academic achievement progress, so that continues to be an area where we are focusing on in our schools, and what we can do to improve instruction.”
