Milford robbery suspect caught

23-year-old Joseph Prouse Jr., of Milford

The Milford Police Department has made an arrest for the robbery of a local gas station.

On Wednesday, police say they arrested 23-year-old Joseph Prouse Jr., of Milford, for allegedly robbing the Wawa on North DuPont Highway. He is being charged with first degree robbery and is being held on a $20,000 secured bond.

This stems from an incident that occurred on Tuesday around 11:45 PM Prouse Jr. reportedly entered the Wawa and gave the clerk a note stating that he had a gun and wanted money. The clerk reportedly gave and undisclosed amount to Prouse Jr. who then fled from the store. No one was hurt in this incident.

Moments after the video and photograph were released of the suspect, the Milford Police Department received several tips naming Prouse Jr. as the suspect and his location as Southeast Front Street. Prouse Jr. also had active warrants out of KCCP.
