MILLSBORO, Del. – The season of giving is upon us and Chick-Fil-A’s locations across Delmarva are wasting no time to do their part!

The Chick-fil-A’s in Cambridge, Ocean City, Salisbury, Seaford, Rehoboth Beach, and Millsboro are partnering up to participate in their Gather to Give Campaign. Those branches will donate 100 percent of their nugget tray sales to RIP Medical Debt to help relieve medical debt for families this holiday season.

Tim Sweetman, owner of Chick-fil-A Millsboro, tells 47 ABC News how the company they’re partnering with is prepared to present a very special present to those who need it most this holiday season.

“They’re going to go and find people who are 400-percent below the poverty line, or their debt makes up 5-percent of their income,” Sweetman explained. “Around Christmas time, these people in our community are going to receive a letter that says your debt has been forgiven from your friends at Chick-fil-A Delmarva.”

Chick-fil-A Delmarva’s goal is to raise up to $10,000 to help those families this holiday season.

The campaign will be held at the select locations from November 27 through December 2 with all the proceeds raised going to families who are in need of medical debt relief.

Nearly 7 in 10 U.S. adults say they receive medical bills they can’t afford, according to research highlighted on RIP Medical Debt, the company Chick-fil-A Delmarva has partnered with for the campaign. Those who wish to support the effort can also donate directly on their website.
