First Responder Who Makes A Difference – November winner
SALISBURY, Md. – 47 ABC is teaming up with four Tire Pro locations to honor first responders each month, and David Phippin has been named as our First Responder Who Makes A Difference for November.
Phippin is the coordinator of SWIFT, which stands for Salisbury Wicomico Integrated Firstcare Team. We’re told he is a key player in the creation of this successful multifaceted approach to out-of-hospital care and assistance. Clients say he’s a caring, compassionate, and a smart paramedic who’s there to help them get the resources they need.
To be awarded for his efforts is something Phippin tells us is humbling, but he couldn’t do it without his team.
“I’m just glad doing what I love makes a difference in somebody’s life. If we can help somebody that’s just an extra bonus to come into work. I thank everybody for recognizing the work that our program does, I always say if you surround yourself with good people, it’ll make a difference and that’s what I do, I surround myself with a lot of good people.”
The four Tire Pro locations include Burnett White Tire Pros in Salisbury, Nock’s Tire Pros in Pocomoke, Cook’s Tire Pros in Harrington, and In & Out Tire Pros in Millsboro. The Tire Pros locations gave Phippin a gift basket filled with goodies to keep his car in tip-top shape, and he’s in the running to win a new set of tires this December.
