Operation We Care volunteers calling on community members to donate items

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Operation We Care is asking for donations to send to troops overseas.

The organization collects donations, and community members come together to pack the items in boxes, to ship to troops.

Operation We Care Founder, Jeff Merritt, said with the holidays just around the corner, it’s important to extend an arm of support, letting troops know that people back home are thinking about them, when Thanksgiving and Christmas roll around.

“All these men and women are deployed in various locations around the world and, they’re not going to be home for the holidays,” Merritt said. “They’re not going to be home for Thanksgiving; they’re not going to be home for Christmas, so it’s a more challenging time, even during normal circumstances, there’s challenges that are presented.”

Volunteers will be packing the boxes on November 19th, to be shipped out for Thanksgiving. For a list of suggested donations and information on how to donate click here.
