Volunteers pack 2,500 boxes at Mountaire’s Thanksgiving at Easter

SELBYVILLE, Del. – On Tuesday, hundreds of volunteers spent the morning packing boxes full of food for families in need this Easter.
It’s all part of Mountaire’s annual Thanksgiving at Easter campaign. Over 100 volunteers have been packing 2,500 boxes filled with delicious meals.

Boxes that will feed 11,000 families here on the shore and meals that have already been picked up from local churches and organizations who will be giving them to the needy families.

“It’s so gratifying, it’s so wonderful to see that people who maybe would not have gone with a holiday meal are going to get that holiday meal,” explains Roger Marino of Mountaire Farms.

This is Mountaire’s 15th year for Thanksgiving at Easter, but they’ve been doing Thanksgiving for Thousands for 25 years.

Once the boxes are sent out to the families in need from Tuesday’s event, Mountaire will have fed one million people across Delmarva.
