18-year-old killed, two juveniles injured in Laurel shooting
LAUREL, Del. – A homicide investigation is underway following Sunday’s shooting that left one dead and two others injured in Laurel.
At around 2:45 p.m., troopers responded to a reported shooting in the 500 block of West 7th Street, finding an 18-year-old male on the porch of a residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family and friends.
Two additional male victims, aged 15 and 13, were also found on the porch suffering from gunshot wounds to their lower extremities. Both were taken to an area hospital where they remain in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed that two unknown suspects approached the victims on foot and started shooting. After firing numerous rounds, the suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.
