Early morning house fire in Seaford displaces family

A family's home is no more after an early Monday morning fire destroyed a house in Seaford, officials with the Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal said.
At 3:57 AM, firefighters responded to a house fire in the 5000 block of Woodland Ferry Road.
With flames coming through the roof, it took firefighters from multiple fire departments an hour to contain.
Several water tankers were required, the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department reported. Fire companies from Seaford, Blades, Bridgeville, Delmar, Sharptown, Gumboro, Georgetown and Millsboro all assisted in fighting the blaze.
The mother and two children who lived at the house were home at the time and are now displaced as a result of the fire. Harry Miller of the Office of the State's Fire Marshal also says the mother was treated for minor injuries.
Fire investigators say the fire was caused by a malfunction with the chimney system of a wood stove in the home. Damages to the house are estimated at $250,000.
Local businesses and charities, including Pizza King and the Good Ole Boy Foundation, are already stepping up to help out the displaced family. 47 ABC's Dani Bozzini will bring more details tonight on the community's response to this fire.
