Emerging Leaders: Ashley Clevenger

Emerging Leaders

DELMARVA – For the newest edition of our Emerging Leaders segment, we’re highlighting a local businesswoman and banker whose tireless efforts to go above and beyond, is give meaning to the term “community” banker.

Ashley Clevenger, Vice President and Business Development Officer at Hebron Savings Bank has been in the banking business in Salisbury for about 20 years. However, it’s her willingness to get outside the four walls of the bank that’s brought her recognition.

Clevenger was once just a teller, and quickly worked her way up to her ultimate goal of becoming a lender. While her goal was achieved in the banking industry, she tells us her true passion for helping the community has flourished through her work. “Being out and about in the community and being able to help people in many different capacities is very rewarding to me and I think it gives me a sense of purpose,” says Clevenger. She adds, “All of the organizations that I’m involved with I feel like they all touch different people so I just think it’s really important, and like I said I really enjoy being a part of all of them and being involved in the different work that they all do.”

Clevenger is a member of the Rotary Club of Salisbury, the planning committee for United Way, Relay for Life, American Cancer Society, Women’s Leadership Committee through the Greater Salisbury Committee, Meals on Wheels, and most recently she graduated from a year-long emerging leader program sponsored by the Maryland Bankers Association. “In addition to that we as a group had to come up with a philanthropic project so we decided to center our efforts around the food shortage that’s so prevalent here in the state of Maryland unfortunately and really across our nation.” As part of that philanthropic project, the group volunteered at local food banks and pantries, which Clevenger says was very humbling and impactful.
