Traffic stop leads to DUI, weapons charges for Camden woman

1280 Autumn Bray

DOVER, Del. – A Camden woman was arrested on multiple charges stemming from a traffic stop early Sunday morning.

At around 4 a.m., a trooper on patrol observed a white Ranger Rover traveling northbound on South Dupont Highway with no license plate and its right rear wheel tire missing. The trooper watched the vehicle veer off the edge of the roadway, crossing the single yellow line, and going onto a curb.

The trooper stopped the vehicle on the shoulder of South Dupont Highway, south of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and made contact with the driver, identified as 34-year-old Autumn Bray. Signs of impairment were observed, and standard field sobriety tests led to Bray being arrested. During a search, the trooper found a loaded handgun concealed in the front of Bray’s jeans, and a computer check revealed that she did not have a valid permit to carry a concealed deadly weapon.

Bray was subsequently charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm while under the influence, driving under the influence of drugs, and traffic offenses. She was later released on her own recognizance.
