Program to help residents save money on electric bill launches in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – Anew solar program has made its way to Salisbury, and it could help you save a lot of money on your electric bill. On Tuesday, officials with Nexamp Inc., held an informational meeting for residents to learn about the new program. Officials tell us they’re looking for a few more low to moderate income families to join the program. They say the purpose is to give members of the community an opportunity to share the benefits of solar power, even if they can’t install solar panels on their property. Those who participate would benefit from using electricity generated by a solar farm located in Kent County. Which officials say would cost a lot less to use.

“This is our first solar farm in the Delmarva power territory. If this does go well we’ll continue to be active across the state of Maryland making solar power accessible and affordable to all the residents here,” said Associate Director of Community Solar Operations for Nexamp, Eric Misbach.

Officials add that if you’re interested in taking part in the pilot program, you can head to the company’s website here where you’ll find an application.
