Milton man arrested for assault and threatening
MILTON, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Milton man after learning that he physically assaulted and threatened his girlfriend with a handgun.
The investigation began when troopers were called to a residence in the 28000 block of Carpenter Road for a report of a domestic incident that happened the day before. On arrival, it was learned that the 17-year-old female victim was at another residence and was being transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.
When troopers met with the victim at the hospital, she reported that her boyfriend, identified as 23-year-old Deion Ayers, had been staying at the residence on Carpenter Road that was reportedly abandoned. While there, Ayers allegedly assaulted the victim and threatened her with a BB gun and later, another handgun.
The victim was able to flee from the residence and was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Ayers was found at the abandoned home, along with a BB gun. He was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing, assault third degree, terroristic threatening, endangering the welfare of a child, offensive touching, and criminal trespass first degree.
Ayers is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $40,000 secured bond.
