Kent Co. man arrested in connection to August robbery
MAGNOLIA, Del. – A Harrington man has been arrested in connection to a robbery that took place last month.
During the afternoon hours of August 8th, troopers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Riley Drive for a reported robbery. The 22-year-old victim met with police and reported that an acquaintance, identified as 35-year-old Antonio Vilone, approached the victim while she was sitting in her car. Vilone reportedly spit on her and demanded her car keys while threatening to hurt her with a hammer. The victim complied, and Vilone fled the scene in the victim’s 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. The victim was not injured.
On September 19th, members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force tried locating Vilone, who was wanted for multiple felony warrants including the August 8th robbery, as well as an active capias for a violation of probation. Vilone was seen driving a Chevrolet Silverado and attempted a traffic stop, but he refused to stop and led police on a pursuit.
The following day, Vilone was found in the 10000 block of South Old State Road in Ellendale. Vilone fled on foot initially through a parking lot but was eventually taken into custody after being tased.
Vilone was taken into custody and charged with first degree robbery, aggravated menacing, theft over $1500, offensive touching, and terroristic threatening. He was held at SCI on a $35,000 cash bond.
