Man indicted on murder charges after body found in Fruitland

A man accused of murdering another man after a night of drinks with friends has been indicted in Wicomico County Circuit Court.
A grand jury has indicted Douglas Harlow.
Authorities allege that Harlow killed Ronnie Mackert last February. A tip last month alerted police that a murder may have taken place and that a body was likely buried near a Fruitland home.
Harlow is now charged with second degree murder, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment and disposing of a body in an authorized place.
If found guilty on all counts, Harlow faces more than 70 years in prison.
Harlow was originally charged in Wicomico County District Court with first degree murder; it is not yet known why Harlow was not indicted in Circuit Court on first degree murder.
