Community comes together for National Recovery Awareness Month
SNOW HILL. – With national recovery month here, a lot of community members are showing their support by going purple and getting together for various events, throughout the month.
This afternoon, members from the African Methodist Episcopal Church gathered at Byrd Park in Snow Hill to raise awareness on recovery, by bringing their faith to the forefront.
Reverend Anthony Reliford said the event was the perfect opportunity to promote healthy recovery and bring the community together.
“We’re here to make sure that we, as the church, reach out to the community that we have a foothold in,” Reliford said. “So, they know that ministry extends beyond the four walls of the church and we’re also out here helping, however we can.”
“Whether you’re a member of the church or not, it’s important that we spread the love of Jesus, of hope, of renewal and restoration, to all,” Reliford added.
