Two men arrested after five month drug investigation in Easton

Police say that as a result of a five month drug investigation, members of the Easton Police Department Narcotics Unit were able to obtain six search and seizure warrants.

During the early morning hours of January 13, the following search warrants were executed on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, 32-year-old Tavon Banks, on 32 South Higgins Street, on 39 South Locust Street, on 22 South Locust Street, and on 304 Doverbrook Apartments in Easton.

Police say during the execution of serving warrants, about 162 grams of suspected powered cocaine, $14,101.29 in cash, two digital scales with suspect cocaine residue, numerous one gallon ziplock bags with suspected cocaine residue,a  2015 Jeep Wrangler, and two Apple iPhones were seized.

Tavon Banks and 21-year-old Tyjrae Banks of Easton were taken into custody and transported to the Easton Police Department for processing. Both suspects were then seen before the District Court Commissioner.

Tavon Banks was ordered to be held without bond before being transported to the Talbot County Detention Center, and Tyjrae Banks was released on his own recognizance.

Police say that the suspected cocaine that was seized has an estimated "street value" of $16,200. They also say that they are in an ongoing investigation into the sale of controlled dangerous substances within the town of Easton.
