Fatal crash under investigation in Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. – Delaware State Police say they are investigating a crash that has turned fatal.

We’re told the accident happened shortly before 10 a.m. on March 6th, on King Road just south of Dove Road. Investigation reports that a Pontiac Vibe pulled onto King Road from a private driveway and was slowly accelerating northward when a Dodge Neon came up from behind, unable to avoid hitting the rear of the Pontiac.

The driver of the Dodge, a 34-year-old male from Bridgeville, was properly restrained and not injured in the incident.

The driver of the Pontiac, identified as 79-year-old Sandra Johnson of Seaford, was properly restrained and was taken to Christiana Hospital in critical condition via Delaware State Police Aviation Unit. Johnson died as a result of her injuries on Monday.

The crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed as of yet.
