Black owned business showcased at the Berlin Farmer’s Market
BERLIN, Md.- August marks national Black Business Month and business owners from across Maryland have been showcasing their products.
One business owner had the opportunity to display her gluten free bakery at the Berlin Farmer’s Market, Sunday.
Lisa Dale said in a little over a year, she kickstarted her business, Krave, and doubled her sales.
Dale said all she needed was an idea and the dedication of taking her product from the drawing board to the hands of consumers.
“If I can do this, I promise anybody can do this,” Dale said. “It’s hard work behind the scenes, but it’s not hard to get started. The first thing is to take that first step and just do it.”
Dale adds that since starting her business, she has gained more attraction and helped spread awareness on why it’s important to have access to the appropriate foods for those who are gluten free.
Dale is also a part of the Faith Over Fear Network, which supports minority owned businesses here on the shore.
