New enhancements to Waverly Drive

SALISBURY, Md.- Waverly Drive in Salisbury got some new updates, aimed at ensuring the safety of drivers and pedestrians.

Construction crews have been preforming resurfacing maintenance to the road, and Jordan Ray with the mayor’s office said the hope is the new enhancements will foster a vibrant environment that will accommodate all road users.

“The biggest thing was following Vision Zero’s plan to eliminate all fatalities and just create a safe environment for the community,” Ray said. “With additional bike lanes, [it] will create a safer environment, where people can move with both ease and mobility, while driving and walking.”

While the completion date hasn’t been set yet, Ray said the construction should not disrupt traffic.
