SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been convicted and sentenced on drug charges.

61-year-old Howard Peterson pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. His plea was accepted, and he was sentenced to 23 years behind bars with all but 14 years suspended. He will also be placed on supervised probation for three years on release.

The charges stem from a traffic stop on October 20, 2022, when deputies located suboxone strips and a large amount of cash in Peterson’s vehicle. A subsequent search of his residence resulted in the seizure of cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, and oxycodone, as well as paraphernalia used to package and distribute controlled dangerous substances.
